voici le genre de nuit qui se classe immédiatement au palmarès historique des légendes.

Bien que ces artistes n’eurent joué à Montréal, depuis des années, leur expérience et leur capacité de performer à été hors du commun. Très rarement n’a t-on vu un duo de DJ, être aussi symbiotique et être conscients en tout temps de l’exacte situation dans leur salle.

Sharam et Dubfire sont des ultra pro qui lisent en permanence leur crowd et savent en tout temps comment la ménager et la relancer, c’était remarquable. Comme l’a bien dit mon ami Samuel, « leur capacité de plaire à tout le monde n’enlève rien a leur originalité ni à leur authenticité! »

Les dj ont bien lu la foule en tout temps et ont su présenter un plan évolutif sur toute la nuit, qui fut adaptatif et très puissant. Tout au long de la nuit ils ont su sélectionner et jouer des pièces rarement (ou jamais) entendues en nous propulsant littéralement dans le futur et ont audiblement adopté une formule d’alternance structurelle entre High Energy et Progressive flow en prenant le TEMPS d’installer leur drops, et de laisser les danseurs jouir de chaque note, sans empressement. 

C’est là que l’on apprécie toute la maturité des grands de ce monde.

Cette stratégie de jeu sur le long cycle (on parle quand même de 12h! de musique) a offert une formule d’endurance permettant aux danseurs de ne pas s’épuiser pour danser et danser et danser jusqu’au fond de leur âme…. Jusqu’au fond de « l’assiette profonde » lol 😉 

Jusqu’à un certain point, nous pourrions faire le constat que DEEP DISH a su aller chercher chaque personne présente, au point de les garder sur le plancher jusqu’à la toute fin. Chaque personne qui n’est pas partie vivait un moment intime en soi-même, mais avec la collectivité, nourrissant et gratifiant, qui motivait de juste rester encore pour les bienfaits du beat, sans en avoir assez, sans épuisement.

SMILE, SMILE AGAIN

Non seulement cela, mais avez-vous comme moi constaté les magnifiques visages ouverts et souriants autour de vous?  J’ai observé plusieurs visages resplendissants, et en ai signifié au moins 4 à leur détentrice, qui éclairaient la pièce de toutes leurs dents. Peut-être était-ce la magie des déguisements, mais quand même, quelle JOIE dans la place! 

Les gens étaient très beaux à regarder, ce qui dénote une grande confiance envers tout l’environnement pour se laisser aller sans aucune retenue, sans pudeur, sans peur, en toute sécurité. Nous partagions visiblement l’Esprit de la Vie Underground, ou le S.O.U.L (Spirit of Underground Living!)  

Pensez-y, quand dans votre vie, avez-vous le bonheur de sourire de toutes vos dents, sans limite, et pour un long, long moment?

En effet, il faut être super LIBRE pour danser et / ou exprimer un sourire totalement universel, adressé à soi même sans AUCUNE retenue ou gêne de peur d’être jugé ou « différent », ou « déplacé » même. 

Bien au contraire, cette impression de partager un moment d’exception avec d’autres humains qui comme vous, offrent leur plus beau « persona » avec le cœur ouvert et réceptif est un privilège qui confère une immense valeur en ce lieu, en ces murs, en ces gens qui vous entourent de bienveillance. 

C’est LÀ que se dévoile la magie Stereo pour chacun d’entre nous, non? Pensez-y… 

Cet état d’esprit exclusif à de rares circonstances dans nos vies prend une immense valeur intrinsèque pour le bien-être qu’il nous confère, et de là l’importance de lui reconnaître son caractère sacré. 

Cette expérience spirituelle (oui oui c’est le bon mot) se déroule en chacun de soi, très intimement, mais GRÂCE à l’environnement qui nous entoure et aux conditions créées pour le permettre avec la musique, les gens, l’ambiance, mais aussi la lumière, très importante dans votre oubli de vous mêmes pour vous retrouver au fond du beat.

L’une des caractéristiques des musiques extraordinaires est de générer le MOUVEMENT expansif, c’est-à-dire que les danseurs sont portés à bouger de tout leur corps, de tous leurs membres, et en conjonction et complicité avec les autres danseurs. Cela a comme propriété de « générer » un plancher extrêmement fluide et aéré plutôt qu’une foule compacte et immobile. (Vous observerez le phénomène dans les grandes soirées PROG – genre Cattaneo ou Simply City). 

Sans même devoir attendre les dernières heures, très tôt dans la nuit, ça bougeait tellement que c’était très aéré et ultra facile de circuler au travers piste malgré que ce fut à pleine, PLEINE capacité. Quel bonheur! 

TURN ON THE LIGHTS! NO! TURN THEM OFF. ON. OFF. ONOFFONOFFONOFFON….

En temps normal, sans même de circonstance particulière, le spectacle lumineux qu’offre l’éclairagiste LUC en sculptant les volumes de la pièce avec ses couleurs et ses lasers est déjà spectaculaire, rarement sinon jamais les humains n’ont accès à tant de beautés spectrales, mais pour cette soirée, nous devons reconnaître que c’était simplement magistral !

Il y a eu quelques ambiances bleues, et beaucoup de fond rouge et noirs qui étaient très très bien avec un usage de laser latéraux mais sans excès. Un très beau travail de Luc aux éclairages dans l’ensemble, très bien arrimé à la musique, qui nous permet de ne même pas nous en apercevoir tellement c’était synchro. Car en effet, quand tout est parfait, on ne se rend même pas compte que la lumière nous plonge en nous même! Y aviez-vous déjà songé ? C’est pourquoi avoir un éclairagiste aussi performant que celui du Stereo en la personne du vétéran Luc L’heureux est une chance mondiale.  

Pour en avoir reçu de nombreux témoignages, vous avez tout comme moi été FLABERGASTÉ par cette immense tête robotisée du futur suspendue, juste au-dessus des DJ comme élément de décoration, du jamais vu! 

Les projections qui éclairaient la tête dans les moments apex de la musique étaient simplement incroyables, car le mapping et les formes projetées donnaient au masque futuriste différentes ambiances ou textures selon les motifs et la couleur. Avez-vous remarqué combien les effets lumineux étaient différents, et en conjonction EN FONCTION des drops ? Juste WOW! 

À maintes reprises durant la nuit, d’autres compagnes et compagnons de danse et moi avons pris le temps de l’admirer car c’était très divertissant et incroyablement beau. Le seul mot qui me semble approprié JUSTE pour la tête est : SPECTACULAIRE!

Cela en soit est un élément de décoration qui mérite une palme d’excellence au créateur du concept. Bravo pour ça, et MERCI Stereo pour toute cette magie qui projette le danseur dans un univers de « transe-en-danse ».

STAMINA STAMINA

En termes de séquence d’endurance, il est rare de voir que la musique est si bonne, et l’énergie si bien diffusée dans tout le club, que le plancher soit encore très occupé jusqu’à la toute fin. On ne voit cela que dans les immenses soirées, car à 09h30 am c’était encore extrêmement énergique et plein, et même vers 11h45, il y avait encore facilement près de 100 personnes sur le plancher !

ET LA FINALE ! Non mais quel master class!! 

C’est COMME ÇA qu’il faut finir une telle soirée ! 

En DÉPOSANT les danseurs avec douceur et amour. 

Pour ceux qui n’ont pu y assister, imaginez que vers 11h55, ils ont cessé la musique en finesse, allumage des lumières claires pour 15 secondes, applaudissements, merci à tous et salutations à la foule… et ils en mettent une dernière avec low bpm, pour finir cela en douuuuuuuceuuur… mais genre superbe atterrissage incroyablement respectueux des danseurs, et surtout, sans équivoque. 

Je tiens à le souligner pour sa qualité, une finale exquise comme l’on n’en voit rarement, mais qui conclut toute la nuit avec grande satisfaction : un master class de finale !

Une fois terminé, personne n’avait de doute que c’était bien la fin, et dans la joie et la gratitude en plus! Pas besoin ni envie de rappel, nous avions été bien servi. Juste parfaitement fait, et jus-qu’au bout! (J’avoue que mes amies et moi aurions bien pris un 2h de plus sans problème cependant)

C’est donc avec une très rare exception que j’offre un 12/10 au duo Deep Dish pour leur excellence, leur posture et leur générosité.

Je terminerai en rappelant l’extrême privilège que nous avons à Montréal d’avoir le (((temple))) dans notre cour arrière, et de pouvoir y accéder chaque semaine. Vous savez, des gens prennent l’avion de partout dans le monde pour venir y vivre une expérience, alors que nous, on s’y voit comme à l’église quand bon nous semble.

Sharam and Dubfire are ultra-professionals who constantly read their crowd and know at all times how to keep them on their toes and get them going again. As my friend Samuel put it, « their ability to please everyone doesn’t detract from their originality or authenticity! »

The djs read the crowd well at all times and were able to present an evolving plan throughout the night, which was adaptive and very powerful. Throughout the night they were able to select and play rarely (or never) heard pieces, literally propelling us into the future, and audibly adopted a formula of structural alternation between High Energy and Progressive flow, taking TIME to install their drops, and let the dancers enjoy every note, without haste.

This is where the maturity of the greats comes into its own.

This long-cycle playing strategy (we’re talking 12 hours of music!) offered a formula for endurance, allowing the dancers to dance and dance and dance to the very depths of their souls…. To the bottom of the « deep plate » lol 😉

To a certain extent, we could say that DEEP DISH knew how to find each and every person present, to the point of keeping them on the floor until the very end. Each person who didn’t leave experienced an intimate moment within themselves, but with the community, nourishing and gratifying, that motivated them to just stay again for the benefits of the beat, without getting tired of it, without exhaustion.

SMILE, SMILE AGAIN

Not only that, but have you, like me, noticed the beautiful, open, smiling faces around you? I observed several resplendent faces, and pointed out at least 4 to their owner, who were lighting up the room with all their teeth. Maybe it was the magic of masquerade costume, but still, what JOY in the place!

The people were beautiful to look at, which shows great confidence in the whole environment to let themselves go without restraint, without modesty, without fear, in complete safety. That is what we call the Spirit Of Underground Living, or the S.O.U.L !

Think about it, when in your life do you have the joy of smiling with all your teeth, without limit, and for a long, long time?

Indeed, you need to be super-FREE to dance and/or express a totally universal smile, addressed to yourself without ANY restraint or embarrassment for fear of being judged or « different », or « out of place » even.

On the contrary, this feeling of sharing an exceptional moment with other human beings who, like you, offer their most beautiful « persona » with an open and receptive heart is a privilege that confers immense value on this place, these walls, these people who surround you with kindness.

That’s where the Stereo magic is revealed for each and every one of us, isn’t it? Think about it…

This state of mind, exclusive to rare circumstances in our lives, takes on immense intrinsic value for the well-being it confers, and hence the importance of recognizing its sacred nature.

This spiritual experience (yes, that’s the right word) takes place within each and every one of us, very intimately, but thanks to the environment that surrounds us and the conditions created to allow it with the music, the people, the atmosphere, but also the light, which is very important in your forgetting yourself to find yourself at the bottom of the beat.

One of the characteristics of extraordinary music is that it generates expansive MOVEMENT, meaning that dancers are driven to move with their whole body, all their limbs, and in conjunction and complicity with other dancers. This has the property of « generating » an extremely fluid, airy floor rather than a compact, immobile crowd. (You’ll see this phenomenon at big PROG parties – like Cattaneo or Simply City).

Without even having to wait for the last few hours, very early in the night, things were moving so fast that it was very airy and ultra-easy to move around the track, even though it was at FULL, FULL capacity. What a joy!

Under normal circumstances, even without any special circumstance, the light show offered by lighting designer LUC, sculpting the volumes of the room with his colors and lasers, is already spectacular. Rarely, if ever, do humans have access to so much spectral beauty, but for this evening, we have to admit that it was simply masterful!

There were a few blue atmospheres, and a lot of red and black backgrounds, which looked very good, with the use of side lasers but without excess. All in all, Luc’s lighting work was very well matched to the music, so that we didn’t even notice that it was all in sync. After all, when everything is perfect, you don’t even realize that the light is plunging you into yourself! Have you ever thought about that? That’s why having a lighting designer as capable as Stereo’s in the person of veteran Luc L’heureux is a stroke of luck.

Having received numerous testimonials, you, like me, were FLABERGASTED by this immense robotic head of the future suspended just above the DJs as a decorative element, never seen before!

The projections that illuminated the head at the apex of the music were simply incredible, as the mapping and projected shapes gave the futuristic mask different moods or textures depending on pattern and color. Did you notice how different the lighting effects were, and in conjunction WITH the drops? Just WOW!

Many times during the night, I and other dancing companions took the time to admire it because it was so entertaining and incredibly beautiful. The only word that seems appropriate JUST for the head is: SPECTACULAR!

This in itself is a decorative element that deserves a palme d’excellence for the creator of the concept. Bravo for that, and THANK YOU Stereo for all this magic that projects the dancer into a universe of « trance-in-dance ».

STAMINA STAMINA

In terms of endurance sequences, it’s rare that the music is so good, and the energy so well diffused throughout the club, that the floor is still very busy right up to the very end. You only see this at huge parties, because at 09:30 am it was still extremely energetic and full, and even around 11:45 there were still easily close to 100 people on the floor!

AND THE FINAL! What a master class!

That’s HOW you finish an evening like this!

By laying the dancers down gently and lovingly.

For those who weren’t able to attend, imagine that at around 11:55, they stopped the music with finesse, turned on the bright lights for 15 seconds, applauded, thanked everyone and greeted the crowd… and they put on one last one with low bpm, to finish it off in smoooooooth way… this kind of superb landing incredibly respectful of the dancers, and above all, unequivocal.

I’d like to underline the quality of this exquisite finale, the likes of which you rarely see, but which brings the whole night to a satisfying close: a master class finale!

When it was over, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that this was indeed the end, and with joy and gratitude to boot! No need or desire for an encore, we’d been well served. Just perfectly done, and right to the end! (I confess that my friends and I would have taken an extra 2 hours with no problem though).

So it’s with a very rare exception that I give the Deep Dish duo a 12/10 for their excellence, posture and generosity.

Speaking of generosity, the guys were very kind to agree to sign the SHINICHI album my friend @racil brilliantly had the idea of bringing to the club, as well as adding their names to my legends cap, which now includes several fabulous names! You know, people fly in from all over the world to come and experience it, while we see ourselves as if in church whenever we feel like it.
